This is the second Thinking About Faith - Apologetics Conference presented by Cedar Park Church and On Reasonable Ground. We are excited about our line-up of speakers which includes: Greg Koukl, Dr. Sara Boyd, Duane Morris and Chris Ashcraft. Greg Koukl is the President of Stand to Reason, Dr. Sara Boyd teaches Bible and Apologetics at Cedar Park Christian School, Chris Ashcraft teaches Science and Apologetics with Cedar Park Schools and Duane is organizing the conference with On Reasonable Ground.

The Conference will provide an opportunity to focus on thinking deeper about the Christian Faith, especially regarding the relevance, reliability and authority of the Bible. The central theme will be: The Bible - Just an Irrelevant Old Book?

Our Topics for the weekend will include: Bad Arguments Against Religion, Forming the New Testament Canon, Never Read a Bible Verse, Biblical Archaeology, No Other Name, Understanding the Destruction of the Canaanites, the Bible and Homosexuality as well as addressing other complicated passages.

The Conference will start on Friday, November 3rd at 5:15pm, with check-in beginning at 4:30. Dinner and Childcare are available for Friday evening only, for a fee, see the ticket menu to include that with your registration.

Early Bird Rates are available until September 25th.

Greg Koukl is the Founder and President of Stand to Reason.

Greg founded Stand to Reason in 1993 and currently serves as President of Stand to Reason. He has spoken on more than 70 college and university campuses both in the U.S. and abroad and has hosted his own call-in radio show for 27 years, advocating for “Christianity worth thinking about.” He has debated atheist Michael Shermer on national radio and Deepak Chopra on national television. An award-winning writer and best-selling author, Greg has written seven books, including The Story of Reality—How the World Began, How It Ends, and Everything Important that Happens in BetweenTactics—A Game Plan for Discussing Your Christian Convictions, and Relativism: Feet Firmly Planted in Mid-Air. Greg has been featured on Focus on the Family radio and has been interviewed for CBN and the BBC. He's been quoted in Christianity Today, the U.S. News & World Report, and the L.A. Times.

Greg received his Masters in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics at Talbot School of Theology, graduating with high honors, and his Masters in Christian Apologetics with honors from Simon Greenleaf University. He is an adjunct professor in Christian Apologetics at Biola University.

Dr. Sara Boyd graduated with a Master’s in Christian Apologetics from Biola University in 2014, and recently completed a Doctorate of Ministry degree in Theology and Apologetics. She has worked in student ministries for seventeen years and currently serves as the Bible Department Head and Campus Ministry Director, as well as teaching in the area of Apologetics for Cedar Park Christian School. Chris Ashcraft is a Christian educator with Cedar Park Christian Schools, and adjunct professor at NW University. He currently provides instruction in Biology, Chemistry, and Creation Apologetics. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology at Wayland Baptist University in 1989, Master of Science in biology at Texas Tech University in 1996, Master of Education from the University of Washington in 2008, and a Master in Teaching Math and Science from Seattle Pacific University in 2012.

Formerly, a biology research technician, he moved from research science into the teaching profession to serve God in Christian education, motivated by the impact that secular science is having on people of faith. Chris is also the founder of the NW Creation Network ministry, the CreationWiki internet encyclopedia of apologetics and organizes the monthly Apologetics Symposium at Cedar Park Church.
